Mo'Nique Names Rodney Perry As New Co-Host For Her New Talk Show

As we have reported several times over the past couple of weeks, The Queen Of Comedy herself Mo’Nique is preparing for her Oct. 5th launch of her BET talk show titled The Mo’Nique Show. We even told you of some of her guests when the show launches, and they include Arsenio Hall, Morris Chestnut, David E. Talbert, Hill Harper, Boris Kodjoe with wife Nicole Ari Parker, Ms. Laura Hayes, Adele Givens and Sommore just to name a few.

Now you know as a Talk Show Host you have to have an excellent co-pilot, a co-host with you that can carry you to the finish line, and we think Mo’Nique did just that as it has been announced that her official co-host of her new show is comedian Rodney Perry.

You may know Perry from Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes as the man on the streets, and from hitting the comedy stages across the country, as a co-host with Mo’Nique on her syndicated radio show, and of course as a Host for Humor Mill TV.

Well, now you will see a lot more of Perry, so stay tuned for the debut of The Mo’Nique Show on BET on Oct. 5th.

LeBron James Jumps Into New Comedy Film

In case you haven’t heard, NBA superstar LeBron James is making a feature film debut playing himself in a new comedy film titled Fantasy Basketball Camp, from Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment comedy.

The film is described as a comedy about five guys from different backgrounds who come to Vegas to live out their fantasy by attending the LeBron James Adult Basketball Camp. While it should be enough that these dreamers get to breathe the same oxygen as their hero, the campers drag James into their various life issues, ranging from serious to idiotic.

Brian Grazer is producing the film, and he said the picture came out of meetings he had with James and his partner Maverick Carter, and their encounters that left Grazer feeling confident the Cleveland Cavaliers star could make the same easy transition to the screen that Eminem did in his screen debut on 8 Mile, which Grazer also produced.

The intention is to begin production next summer of the new film.

Is There About To Be A Queens Of Comedy ReUnion?!

Its seems that the news out of Mo’Nique’s camp isn’t slowing down anytime soon. As we stated in our post yesterday, Mo'Nique is preparing for her Oct. 5th launch of her BET talk show titled The Mo’Nique Show. So far, her line up for her first week is stellar.
As we reported, Mo’Nique intends to dedicate a show to Arsenio Hall, plus she landed a very rare interview with Morris Chestnut and David E. Talbert as they discuss Talbert's upcoming DVD release of his blockbuster play titled Love In The Nick Of Tyme.

Today she taped an episode dedicated to relationships with her guests that included actors Hill Harper discussing his new book titled The Conversation, and Boris Kodjoe with wife Nicole Ari Parker.

But the biggest bombshell we discovered today was that Mo’Nique is planning on dedicating a show to the Queens Of Comedy, Ms. Laura Hayes, Adele Givens and Sommore. If you remember The Queens Of Comedy Tour, originally produced by Walter Latham, was ultimately captured live onstage in Memphis during their triumphant and filmed for a theatrical release.

Anyway, as of this writing we hear that the reunion show will be broadcast in October. Stay tuned!

Mo'Nique's Lands Morris Chestnut & David E. Talbert For Late Nite Show

It looks like Mo’nique is pulling out all the stops for her new late night show on Black Entertainment Television.

As we previously reported, the Queen of Comedy will headline The Mo’Nique Show, a late night talk show premiering October 5th as part of BET’s new fall lineup.

Last week, word trickled down on some of the guests she is planning on having, and last week’s big bomb shell was news of an entire show dedicated to Arsenio Hall, and his years as a late night host.

Today, our sources have discovered that she is stepping up to the plate to hit another home run. This time, Mo’Nique has strategically landed Morris Chestnut and David E. Talbert just in time as they are launching the media campaign for the DVD release of Talbert’s blockbuster play Love In The Nick of Tyme. It seems Chestnut and Talbert will be featured on multiple segments of the show which will be dedicated to the play, their working relationship, upcoming projects, and Chestnut’s theatrical stage debut in Love In The Nick Of Tyme.

Love In The Nick Of Tyme is set in a salon on the South Side of Chicago and is a magical story of love lost and found. The cast also includes R&B singer Avant, TV actress Ellia English of The Jamie Foxx Show fame, former American Idol contestant Trenyce, and singer Vivian Green who penned the music.
