Is The White Shadow Coming Back To TV?
Our sources have revealed to us that there is going to be a new version of the very short lived but popular 1978 dramatic series The White Shadow coming to television, and with a new name.
In case you are not familiar with the series The White Shadow, it starred Ken Howard as Ken Reeves, a white former NBA professional who retired from the pro game and got a job as a basketball coach in a predominantly black inner-city high school. The series developed into how a white coach tried to teach his players about life, and how to deal with real life issues.
Anyway, we hear the new series is co-executive produced, written by and directed by actor Larry B. Scott (of Revenge Of The Nerds fame and The Karate Kid fame), with the show to be titled My New Life. The show is still rounding out the new cast but we hear Olivia Brown (of Miami Vice fame), Jazsmin Lewis (Of Barbershop and Three Can Play That Game fame) and Eddie Valez (of General Hospital) is attached so far.
As the news develops on this show we will bring it to you, including which network you can catch it on.

NBC Adds ANOTHER Urban Comedy Project To Their New Season!
It looks like the NBC Network is stepping it up with more urban shows for the upcoming season as we hear that they added another new urban show to their slate.
Last week we first reported that NBC had landed actor Don Cheadle (of Crash and The Ocean 11 films) and Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder for a new urban half-hour comedy series about brothers who reunite after a long dispute to open a private security company to their own dismay.
Well, this week we hear that NBC has added a new show titled Ordinary People which is about a married couple in their late 20s who are fast-tracked professionals with four kids. The father figure named Kevin, after spending most of his time on the road as a Rolling Stone music reporter, is promoted to columnist and works from home, a change that requires adjustment for everyone in the family.
The show revolves around the real life past experiences of writer Kenya Barris who is also the show’s co-developer and Executive Producer. As of this writing the show has yet to tap an official cast. Stay tuned for more info soon!
