We hear that the
NBC Network is about to stock up with more comedy on their slate to assist in the
Jay Leno sweepstakes, and their new gamble is now in the urban field. Word has it that actor
Don Cheadle (of
Crash and
The Ocean 11 films) and
Boondocks creator
Aaron McGruder were recently tapped to head up a new half-hour comedy series about brothers who reunite after a long dispute to open a private security company to their own dismay. The laughter will be based upon how the brothers interact with each other as the story line develops. McGruder will write for the show and be an Executive Producer along with Cheadle, and
Universal is Producing the show. No word yet on who will portray the other brother for the show.
We are not sure what this means for
FOX’s new sitcom
Brothers that stars
Michael Strahan and
Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, meaning if two urban show about brothers can coexist, but hopefully both shows will be around so we can talk about it.
Up next for Cheadle is the very much anticipated films
Iron Man 2, The Avengers and
Brooklyn's Finest and McGruder is currently taping and putting the finishing touches on a new season of
The Boondocks.
