The Humor Mill Magazine today has officially announced that it will be presenting the First Annual Humor Mill Awards, which seek to honor the numerous African American men and women who have contributed to the comedy art form both in front of and behind the cameras. "For so many years, there has been relatively little formal recognition of African American people as a whole in entertainment and in comedy in particular. It is time that we honor those who deserve to be honored," states Humor Mill Publisher and Chief Executive Officer Frank Holder. "We felt that a platform like this was the right thing to do." As the first Award show of its type, it is expected that the event will garner a great deal of interest.
Appealing to a multicultural audience, the Humor Mill Awards intends to launch a comprehensive national advertising and marketing campaign via the internet, TV and radio.
Covering a wide range of categories for nominees including television, cable, concert performance and film, the First Annual Humor Mill Awards promises to be an exciting as well as unique black tie event.
Stay tuned for more information regarding the date of the event and more!
