Murphy To Play Pryor?

It has been confirmed that comedian Eddie Murphy is being set to play the late great comedian Richard Pryor in a film that will portray Pryor's life- and death. So far, the studio has approached Murphy and contracts are being negotiated for this project to move forward quickly, as Murphy has expressed extreme interest to play the role. The film is being set up by the Weinstein's via their Weinstein Company Production Banner.

Damon Wayans To Write Tell All Book?

We hear that among the things for Damon Wayans to accomplish this upcoming year (besides releasing his new show on ABC titled Never Better), is to write a tell all book titled Unperformed which will be about his years in the comedy industry and his rise to fame. Expect some blockbuster news from Wayans, especially if he opens up about what really went on behind the early days of the FOX show In Living Color, his family life during his rise to fame, and the struggles of dealing with networks. Mike Epps' New TV Show Gonna Be On Air Or What?

We just discovered that the Mike Epps variety show that was filmed several months ago for broadcast titled The Mike Epps Comedy Mix Tapes has yet to find a network home. Due to the impeding strike, it might end up as a fall replacement show. In the meantime, Epps is preparing for the release of his new Ice Cube film titled Janky Promoters.

Eddie Murphy In Gotham Or Not?

As we told you a couple of days ago, we heard the news from several stories that Eddie Murphy was lined up to play the Riddler in the next Batman film franchise. Well, we got down to the very nitty-gritty about the story and here is the story; Christopher Nolan (The Director for both films) is not signed on yet, and therefore no other actors are attached to the film-yet. BUT, the rumor is still in the air about Murphy because Nolan expressed his interest on stars he is extremely interested in for the next film (and Murphy's name was mentioned), tentatively titled Gotham. Nolan also expressed he wanted the next film to be as dark as his first two films, and he expressed several actor who might be perfect for the roles. So, no one is attached yet, not Murphy, or Shai LaBeouf (rumored to play as Robin).

So, the script is not written yet, so there is no solid ground yet for anything. We will get back to you on this developing story.
